Fly cutters are rotary cutting tools used in sideways motions to machine and produce finished plane surfaces.
Fly cutters use one or more single-point tools, also called fly cutter bits, which get inserted into the cylindrical body.
Fly cutters get mounted in a special angled holder, so when the whole unit is rotating, these bits take the surfacing cuts for soft materials like aluminum and hard materials like steel.
